Human skills that will never be replaced by AI
This is what I believe, from my own calls and meetings. The tools will keep changing, and so will the phone. The skill of talking to people goes with you. AI can help you get ready and follow up. You do the part that happens live. I'm here to help with both.
You have to be consistent and you have to sound like a human when you're on the phone.
7 skills, and how AI helps with each
On the phone
1Sound like a real person on the phone
YouSay who you are, ask about them and answer what they actually say. Talk like you, not like a script.
AI helpsClaude writes your opener from why you're calling them. Then it plays the buyer so you can practice out loud.
Want the calls made for you? My team at Coda Outbound does it.
2Listen more than you talk
YouAsk one good question, then stop talking. Hear what they mean, and ask the next question right then.
AI helpsClaude reads the transcript after the call. It shows where you talked over them and what to ask next time.
3Hear no and stay kind
YouStay calm, ask why and know when to let it go. Thank them either way.
AI helpsClaude says no to you in practice, the way real people do. After a call, it drafts a kind reply and a short form that asks why.
Face to face
4Meet people in person
YouShow up, look them in the eye and listen. Being in the room tells them they matter.
AI helpsClaude preps a one-page brief with 3 questions the day before. After, it drafts your recap.
5Bring people together
YouInvite people like you, one by one, by phone or face to face. Ask each one to bring someone like them.
AI helpsClaude picks who to invite from your list and writes the details and the reminder.
Over time
6Show up again and again
YouKeep calling, keep following up and call to confirm before every meeting. The reps are yours.
AI helpsClaude builds today's call list, drafts each follow-up the same day and tells you who to call to confirm.
7Earn trust with people you know
YouStart with people you already know. Give something useful before you ask. Call every name they send you that same day.
AI helpsClaude finds the people you've really talked to, suggests something useful to send and drafts your ask.
