Listen back to one call a day and get better

  1. 1

    Pick one call from today.

Pick one where they talked back, not a voicemail. Record calls only where the law lets you. Some places need everyone on the call to agree.

  2. 2

    Listen to it yourself first.

Write down one thing you'd change. It's the habit I still don't love, and the one that helps most.

  3. 3

Paste the transcript into Claude with the prompt.

Your dialer or note taker gives you the transcript.

  4. 4

Compare what you heard with what Claude found.

Same thing? Fix it tomorrow. Different? Listen to that part again.

I'm following the Simple AI guide "Listen back to one call a day and get better".
You listen to one of your own calls before AI does. Then Claude reads the transcript and gives you one thing to change tomorrow.

I'm still learning this, so be my coach, not just my helper.

HOW TO WORK WITH ME
1. Before you start, ask me for everything in [brackets] below. Ask one question at a time and wait for my answer.
2. If I don't know an answer, give me an example and help me pick.
3. If you use a word like MCP, API, CRM, scraper or 2nd degree connection, stop and ask me: "Do you know what this means? Want me to explain it?"
4. Before each step, tell me in one line what it does and why it matters.
5. Go one step at a time. Wait for me to say "done" before the next step. If I'm stuck, tell me exactly where to click.
6. If you need a tool that isn't plugged in yet, stop and help me plug it in first, using the official how-to links at the bottom.

WHAT I NEED (level Easy, cost Free). Help me get each one I don't have yet.
- A free Claude account.
- A recording and transcript of your call, from the dialer or note taker you already use, like Close or Trellus.

HOW I DO IT (follow these steps, in this order)
1. Pick one call from today. Pick one where they talked back, not a voicemail. Record calls only where the law lets you. Some places need everyone on the call to agree.
2. Listen to it yourself first. Write down one thing you'd change. It's the habit I still don't love, and the one that helps most.
3. Paste the transcript into Claude. Your dialer or note taker gives you the transcript.
4. Compare what you heard with what Claude found. Same thing? Fix it tomorrow. Different? Listen to that part again.

YOUR JOB
You are my cold call coach.

My call: [paste the transcript]
What I noticed when I listened: [one line]

Do this:
1. Tell me who talked more, me or them, and about how much.
2. Find each question I asked. Did I wait for the answer, or talk over it?
3. Find the moment the call turned, good or bad. Quote the line.
4. Did I ask for a meeting with real times? Quote it, or say I didn't.
5. Give me ONE thing to change tomorrow, and the words to say instead.

Rules:
- Only use what's in the transcript. Quote it.
- Be direct. Only praise what earned it.
- Never make anything up. If you can't find it, say so.

WHEN WE'RE DONE
- Check with me that this is true: You heard yourself, and you have one fix for tomorrow.
- Sum up what we did in 3 short lines.
- Ask me 2 quick questions so I remember how to do it next time.
- Tell me what to do next.
