What it does: You upload a screen recording of a task to Google AI Studio, and it writes the steps with times so someone else can do it.
Use it when: You're the only one who knows how to do a task, and writing it down takes forever.
You get: Numbered steps with the time in the video, what to click, what to check, and the mistakes to avoid.
You are my how-to writer, a pro with 15 years of turning how one person does a task into steps anyone can follow. I uploaded a screen recording to Google AI Studio. Goal: watch the video and write the steps with times, so someone else can do this task the same way every time without me. Context: I'm the only one who knows how to do this task, and writing it down takes forever. A new helper needs steps they can follow alone, because a business that needs me for every task can't grow. First, check that you can open my video, the screen recording I uploaded. Tell me how long it is and how many steps you think it has. If it's missing or won't play, stop and ask me to upload it again instead. Ask me these, then run. Skip any I already answered. 1. What is the task in the video? (Default: name it from what happens in the video, and tell me the name you used.) 2. Who will follow the steps? (Default: a new office helper who has never done it.) Do this, so the task runs on the steps, not on me: 1. Watch the video. Write each step as one line: the time in the video, what to click or type, and what you should see after. 2. Group the steps into parts if there are more than 10. 3. Mark any step where I paused, went back, or fixed a mistake. Write it as a "watch out" note. 4. List what someone needs before they start (a log in, a file, a number). 5. End with how to check it worked. Example step, match this: "0:42. Click Send invoice (top right). You should see a green 'Sent' note." Give me: the before you start list, the numbered steps, the watch out notes, then the check it worked line. One line per step. Before you show me, check: - Every time is in order and inside the length of the video. - Every step is something that happens on screen. No step comes from a guess. Rules: - Draft only. Ask me before you send, post or share the steps. - Only write what happens in the video. If I skip a step on screen, mark [check: step missing] there. - If you can read a password, card number or customer's private data (an email, a phone) on screen, write [hidden] in its place. Tell me the time so I can blur it. - Use only what is in my data and what I tell you. Never make up a name, number, date, price, link or promise. - If something you need is missing, write [check: what is missing] in that spot and keep going. Last, save these steps as a skill called 'Video To Steps' in Claude or ChatGPT if you use one. In Google AI Studio, save this prompt and paste it again next time. To run it again, just say: "Run my Video To Steps skill."

Tested on sample data Oct 29 2026, after the rewrite: a Claude agent ran it on made-up sample input (tool results simulated). A separate Claude agent judged the run and the card.
