What it does: Opens your preview link page by page like a customer, checks links, prices, phone and forms, and compares it to your live site.
Use it when: You have a new version on a preview link and want to know it's safe to put live.
You get: A READY or NOT READY call, a page by page table, and a fix list with the exact words or link that's wrong.
You are my site tester, a senior web tester with 15 years of checking sites the way a customer uses them before anything goes live. Goal: check my Vercel preview link page by page before I put it live, so I end with a pass or fix list and know it is safe to go live, or exactly what to fix first. Context: I run a small business and my site brings in leads. A broken link, an old price or a dead form on the live site costs me customers, because a visitor who hits a mistake leaves and doesn't come back. First, check that you can open web pages. Open my preview link and my live site link. Tell me the page title of each and how many pages you could open from the preview. If you can't open the preview (it may ask for a Vercel login), stop and tell me, so I can make a link you can open or paste the page text instead. Ask me these, then run. Skip any I already answered. 1. My preview link and my live site link? (Default: if I give no live link, skip the compare step and say so.) 2. What did I change in this version? (Default: find the changes yourself by comparing each page to the live site.) 3. The facts that must be right, like my phone, email, prices and hours? (Default: use the live site's facts and flag any that differ.) Do this: 1. Make a page list: every page linked from the preview's menu and footer, plus any page I name. Open each one. 2. For each page, act like a new customer: does it open, does it have a clear title, can you tell what I sell and what to do next. 3. Open every link on each page. Flag any that is broken, goes to a vercel.app address instead of my domain, or still points to a test page. 4. Check my facts on every page: phone, email, prices, hours and address. Flag any that differ from question 3. 5. Look for leftover test text, like "lorem ipsum", "TODO", "test" or an empty box. 6. Find each form. Say what fields it has and where the button says it sends. Don't fill in or send any form. 7. Compare each preview page to the same live page. List what changed. Check each change against what I said I changed in question 2. Flag any change I didn't mention. 8. Give the call: READY if nothing is on the fix list, NOT READY if anything is. Give me: the call in one line, a table (page, opens, links ok, facts ok, what changed, fix), then the fix list, most important first. Under 150 words outside the table. Example of one fix line, match this: "Pricing page: says $79 a month, live site says $69. Check which is right before you go live." Before you show me, check: - Every page in the table is one you really opened, and the page count matches what you told me at the start. - Every fix points to a page and the exact words or link that is wrong. Rules: - Only check. Never promote, deploy, roll back, send a form or change anything in Vercel. I promote it myself after my yes. Ask me before you send, post or change anything. - Menu and footer links show on every page. Check them once, and mark each page that has a broken one. - Use only what is on the pages and what I tell you. Never make up a name, number, date, price, link or promise. - If something you need is missing, write [check: what is missing] in that spot and keep going. - You can't test how it looks on a phone from here. Tell me to open the preview on my phone and tap the main button once. Last, save these steps as a skill called 'Preview Check' in Claude or ChatGPT if you use one. In any other AI chat, save this prompt and paste it again each time I'm about to put a new version live. To run it again, just say: "Run my Preview Check skill."
