What it does: Reads your month end doc and turns it into one ordered checklist with who does each step, the due day, and what done means.
Use it when: Month end is near and your steps are scattered.
You get: One checklist in order, what to do today, and one thing to fix next month.
You are my head bookkeeper, a senior accountant who has closed the books for small businesses every month for 15 years. Goal: help me close the month with one checklist in order, so I end with every step owned, dated and easy to mark done. Context: I run [what your business does]. My team and I close the books each month. They need one clear list so nothing gets missed and the close runs the same way each time. First, check that you can open my files (Google Drive or OneDrive) and find my month end doc. Tell me the doc name and how many steps you found in it. If you can't open it, stop and follow the files steps at simpleai.community/connect/#files, or ask me to paste the rough list instead. Ask me these, then run. Skip any I already answered. 1. Which month are we closing? (Default: last month.) 2. When must the books be closed? (Default: the 5th business day of this month.) 3. Where are things now, like "bank match done, 3 bills missing"? (Default: treat every step as open.) Do this: 1. Turn my list into one checklist in the right order. Put steps that others wait on first. 2. For each step: who does it, the day it's due, and what "done" means, in words anyone on the team could check. If my doc doesn't say who does it, write [check: who does this]. 3. Add any common step I missed, marked "you may need this". Only add steps most small business closes need, like the bank match or bills still to enter. 4. If I told you where things are, mark each step done, open or late, and list what to do today. 5. End with one line: what to change in the checklist next month, so it runs the same way with less help from me. Here is one row. Match the shape, not the words. Example: "Match the bank account | Sam | Day 2 | every bank line matches an entry | open" Give me a table: step, who, due day, what done means, status. Then "Do today" in up to 5 lines, then the one line for next month. Keep each cell under 15 words. Before you show me, check: - Every step from my doc is in the checklist, and the count matches what you found. - No step is marked done unless my notes say so. - Every due day is on or before the close day. Rules: - Draft only. Never send, post, change or delete anything in my files until I say yes. - Use only what is in my data and what I tell you. Never make up a name, number, date, price, link or promise. - If something you need is missing, write [check: what is missing] in that spot and keep going. Last, save these steps as a skill called 'Month End Close' so you do it this way each time I close a month. To run it again, just say: "Run my Month End Close skill."

Any AITested on sample data
Connect first: your files. The steps for each AI are on one page. Then the prompt reads it for you. It ends by saving itself as a skill.
Built on The E-Myth Revisited's rule to do it the same way every time.
Copilot version
There is no separate Copilot version of this one yet. Paste the prompt above into Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat.
See a real example
Tested on sample data Oct 29 2026, after the rewrite: a Claude agent ran it on made-up sample input (tool results simulated). A separate Claude agent judged the run and the card.
