Connect Xero to ChatGPT

Supported. custom MCP server URL

What you need:

Built from each app's own docs.

Plan: ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu, on the web, set up by an admin or owner. Pro can add servers that only read.

Make a Xero developer app (Core plan or up). Starter only works with the demo org.
In ChatGPT, open Plugins. Choose +, then Add custom MCP server.
Name it Xero. Under Connection, enter https://api.xero.com/mcp/v1
Under authentication, pick OAuth and enter the client ID from your Xero developer app. Sign in to Xero.
Tick I understand and want to continue. Select Create as a plugin.
In a new chat, type @ and pick Xero.

Test it: Ask: what was my profit last month in Xero?

What it can do: See profit, cash, invoices and customers.

What it can't do: The Claude and Gemini connectors only read. Xero's developer server can write and does not ask first.
