Power dialers ranked for small sales teams

Which power dialer should a small sales team use? Trellus, Orum and Nooks compared on price, team size and what public reviews say.

Short answer

Which power dialer should a small sales team use?

A small sales team should try Trellus first. It's a power dialer that logs every call into your CRM, it costs $99.99 a month on its Power plan, and you don't need a big team to start. Skip Orum unless you have 9 or more reps, since it has a 9 seat minimum and no public price. Skip Nooks unless you're a bigger team ready for a custom quote. No paid links. No tool paid to be here.

Steps

  1. 1

Test it with your own list, not their demo.

Load a list you were going to call anyway. A demo shows the dialer on a perfect day. Your list shows you a normal Tuesday.

  2. 2

    Connect your CRM first.

The point of a dialer is that every call, outcome and note lands in your CRM without you typing it. Make one test call and check that it shows up.

  3. 3

    Dial for a full week.

Count dials, live pickups and real conversations each day. One day is too noisy to judge.

  4. 4

    Check 50 contacts by hand.

Open 50 logged calls and make sure the outcome is right. A call marked voicemail that was really a person is a problem you want to catch early.

  5. 5

Pay month to month or pay as you go before you sign a yearly deal.

Trellus has a monthly price. Orum and Nooks need a sales call, so ask for a monthly option or a trial before you sign.

  6. 6

Drop it if more than 20% is wrong.

That's Kevin Hopp's rule. If 1 in 5 logged calls has the wrong outcome or never reaches the CRM, your reports will lie to you.

  • Price: No public price, custom quote (checked Oct 28, 2026).

What people say: G2: 4.8 out of 5 from 1,629 reviews (shown in a search result for G2's Nooks page, read Oct 28, 2026). We couldn't open the review text itself today, so no quotes.

Most common praise: from the summaries we could read, an easy screen and calling more than one number at a time. Most common complaint: dropped calls, slow connects and wrong numbers that don't get flagged.

Check if the dialer is logging calls right

PromptPaste into any AI
I'm testing a power dialer. Here are 50 calls from it, with the outcome the dialer logged and what really happened (from my notes or the recording): [paste rows].

Count how many outcomes were wrong, by type (for example marked voicemail but was a person). Tell me the percent that was wrong and if it's over 20%. Then list the 3 most common mistakes in plain words.

Compare two dialers after a test week

PromptPaste into any AI
I tested two dialers for one week each with the same reps and the same kind of list.

[Dialer A]: [dials], [live pickups], [real conversations of 60 seconds or more], [meetings booked], cost [price].
[Dialer B]: [dials], [live pickups], [real conversations], [meetings booked], cost [price].

Tell me the cost per real conversation and per meeting for each, and which one I should keep. Remind me if one week is too small to be sure. Under 150 words.

FAQ

What's a power dialer?

A tool that calls the next number on your list for you as soon as you hang up, and logs the call. You spend your time talking instead of typing numbers.

Do I need a phone check before I use a dialer?

It helps. Dead and front desk numbers waste dials. See our phone check tools ranking for how to clean a list first.

Why don't Orum and Nooks show a price?

They sell through a sales call and a custom quote. Ask about seat minimums and contract length before you get excited about a demo.

How many pickups should I expect?

It depends on your list and who you call. On our own team, about 1 in 10 dials on Trellus got a live pickup from May to Aug 2026. Track your own number for a week.

Rather have it done for you? We build the system that handles your outreach, one time, and you own it. See how it works.
