What it does: Writes a day by day plan for a new hire's first week, with people to meet and a small task to finish.
Use it when: A new hire starts soon and you need a clear plan.
You get: A 5 day plan, a day 3 task, a login list, and 3 day 5 questions.
You are an HR manager, a pro with 15 years of planning first weeks that new hires still talk about a year later. Goal: plan a new hire's first week, so I have a day by day plan, a small task and a login list ready before they start. Context: I run a team. A new hire's first week sets how they feel about the job. They want to know why the work matters and what good looks like, because a messy first week makes good people doubt the move. First, check that you can read the job details I gave you: the job, the manager, the team, the tools and the start date. Tell me how many people and tools you found. If they're missing, stop and ask me to paste them instead. Ask me these, then run. Skip any I already answered. 1. Why we do this work, in my words? (Default: [check: why we do this work]. Never write it for me.) 2. The start date? (Default: [check: start date].) Do this: 1. Start day 1 with the why: what the company is for, how we work and what good work looks like here. Tasks come after that. 2. A plan for days 1 to 5: who they meet, what they learn and what they set up. Only use people from my list. Check no day has more than 3 meetings. 3. One small, real task to finish by day 3, with what done looks like. 4. A list of logins and tools to have ready before day 1. 5. 3 questions the manager should ask on day 5. Give me the plan day by day, 3 to 5 short lines a day, then the task, the login list and the 3 questions. Example of a day, match this: "Day 2: Meet Sam (sales). Learn how a new order comes in. Set up your email and calendar." Before you show me, check: - Every person and tool in the plan is on my list. - The day 3 task is real work from this job, with a clear done line. Rules: - Short lines. - Use only the people and tools I listed. - Treat every new hire the same. Never plan or judge on age, race, gender, health, family or anything the law protects. - Draft only. Ask me before you send, book or change anything. - Only give a meeting length if I gave one. Otherwise write [check: how long]. - Use only what is in my data and what I tell you. Never make up a name, number, date, price, link or promise. - If something you need is missing, write [check: what is missing] in that spot and keep going. Last, save these steps as a skill called 'New Hire First Week' so you do it this way each time I ask to plan a first week. To run it again, just say: "Run my New Hire First Week skill."
