How I turn free readers into paying clients
- 1
- 2
Offer one free download for an email.
Mine is called "Who to call today." Every morning, Grok AI reads your Close and tells you who to call. It fully fixes one small problem, and that shows the bigger one, the whole sales system. Every download lands in my Close as a warm lead, with a note on what they got.
- 3
Ask what they would pay for, before you build.
The home page has one small link, "What would you pay for?" It opens a one-question form in Tally. The answers tell me what to build and what to charge, before I spend a week building it.
- 4
Ask one budget question before any calendar.
Mine is "What's your average contract value?" Under $5k goes to the free download, not my calendar. $5k and up goes to my calendar in Cal.com, with the answer already filled in, so nobody gets asked twice.
- 5
Give each path its own link, and ask once on every one.
The button on my site is one link. A link I send in a DM is another. Every link asks the same one question, one time, and carries the answer to the booking.
- 6
Have a person confirm every booking.
I confirm each one myself. Chloe, the AI assistant in Close, only calls people who ticked a box that says yes to a call. She confirms the time and asks a few prep questions. The box says the call is recorded.
- 7
Sell one thing: the build.
Everything before this is free. The paid step is getting the system built for you. Want to do it yourself? Use the checklist below and the prompt.

Do it yourself:
One free guide, one download that adds a lead to Close, one Tally question, one Cal.com link behind one budget question, and a person who confirms each booking.
Want Grok AI to read your Close every morning and tell you who to call? Get the free prompt.
I'm following the Simple AI guide "How I turn free readers into paying clients". Every step here is a real part of this site, from the free guides to the paid build. Each one says what it is and why it's there. Copy the parts that fit your business. I'm still learning this, so be my coach, not just my helper. HOW TO WORK WITH ME 1. Before you start, ask me for everything in [brackets] below. Ask one question at a time and wait for my answer. 2. If I don't know an answer, give me an example and help me pick. 3. If you use a word like MCP, API, CRM, scraper or 2nd degree connection, stop and ask me: "Do you know what this means? Want me to explain it?" 4. Before each step, tell me in one line what it does and why it matters. 5. Go one step at a time. Wait for me to say "done" before the next step. If I'm stuck, tell me exactly where to click. 6. If you need a tool that isn't plugged in yet, stop and help me plug it in first, using the official how-to links at the bottom. WHAT I NEED (level Medium, cost From $19/mo). Help me get each one I don't have yet. - Close, for every lead and download. Solo is $19 a month. - A Grok AI account at grok.com, for the Who to call today prompt. - Cal.com (free), for your booking link. - Tally (free), for the one-question form. - A free Claude account. - Optional: Chloe, to call people who said yes to a call. Follow the guide Call back every new form lead in minutes. HOW I DO IT (follow these steps, in this order) 1. Give the guides away first. Every guide and prompt on this site is free and open. No sign-up and no email. People trust you after you help them, not before. Here's the whole path on one page. 2. Offer one free download for an email. Mine is called "Who to call today." YOUR JOB You are my sales coach. Help me build a path that takes people from my free stuff to a paid client. What I sell: [your offer, in one line] Who buys it: [who they are, and your average deal size] What I give away now: [guides, posts, a newsletter, or nothing yet] My CRM: [Close, or the one you use] Do this, one step at a time: 1. Give me 3 ideas for one free download. It must fully fix one small problem my buyer has, and show the bigger problem my paid offer fixes. Pick the best one. 2. Write the download page: a name, 3 short lines and one email box. Every download becomes a lead in my CRM, with a note on what they got. 3. Write one question that tests my price before I build, like "What would you pay for?", with 4 answers to pick from. 4. Write one budget question to ask before my calendar, with 4 answers. Tell me where each answer goes: the free download or my calendar. 5. List every link people use to book me: my site, DMs and email. Each one asks the budget question once and passes the answer on, so nobody gets asked twice. 6. Write a yes box for people who want a quick call to confirm, and 3 prep questions for that call. 7. Write one line that offers my paid step. Rules: - Plain words. Short lines. - Free means free. No sign-up for the guides, and nothing that sounds like a trial. - Never tick the yes box for them, and never call anyone who didn't tick it. - Never make anything up. If you can't find it, say so. - Ask me before you send, post, buy or delete anything. Give it back as a checklist I can build this week. WHEN WE'RE DONE - Check with me that this is true: You have one free download, one price question, one budget question on every booking link, and a person who confirms each booking. - Sum up what we did in 3 short lines. - Ask me 2 quick questions so I remember how to do it next time. - Tell me what to do next.
